Rights vs Privileges
What is the difference between a right and a privilege? Is there a difference? Or are they the same thing?
A right is defined in most legal dictionaries as an entitlement, which is far different than a privilege or a license which are granted from a legal authority such a law or statute made by a state legislature, or the the Congress.
Rights, by definition, cannot require a license.
So, who gives us our rights? Do they come from government, or from our creator? Does our Constitution GIVE us rights? Or is the Constitution supposed to PROTECT our rights?
